Group of One Step Walkers Against a Monument

Joining a walking group can provide numerous benefits, both physically and mentally. One Step Walkers is a group of people who enjoy getting out and exploring the beautiful countryside while improving their health and well-being. Whether you are an experienced hiker or simply looking to get some exercise, joining One Step Walkers can help you achieve your objectives.

One of the primary advantages of becoming a member of One Step Walkers is the opportunity to explore the great outdoors. A walk in the countryside can help you connect with nature, relieve stress, and clear your mind. Being in the presence of beautiful scenery and fresh air can help you forget about the daily grind, allowing you to relax and recharge. The group offers an organised way to plan and explore new trails, as well as a supportive community with which to share these experiences.

As a member of One Step Walkers, you will be able to participate in organised walks and hikes both locally and further afield. Our walks are led by experienced walkers and are a great way to get some exercise, fresh air, and take in the breathtaking scenery that surrounds us. We also organise social events such as summer picnics, seeing live bands, dancing, ten-pin bowling, evening meals, theatre visits, and much more, which are a great way to meet new people and have a good time.

We welcome walkers of all levels of experience, so whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just getting started, you’ll find a home in our group. Our members are friendly, supportive, and always happy to welcome new faces. The group’s general age range is 40 and up, but this is not a requirement, and people of all ages are welcome.

We welcome members with well-behaved dogs on our walks, but this is at the discretion of the walk leader. If you are unsure, check the walks programme or contact the walk leader; they will be aware of the terrain and obstacles to overcome on the walk, and dogs must be kept on leads while on the public highway and in the presence of livestock.

To join, you must join our affiliated organisation, the Ramblers, and pay the annual membership fee. This fee covers the costs of organising walks and events as well as providing liability insurance while participating in group activities.

Remember to select Nottinghamshire area and One Step Walkers when signing up.
